Half Full or Half Empty?

Round two of the nostalgic reblogs. Enjoy.

‘Is the cup half full or half empty?’

A simple, yet revealing brain teaser; every answer different from the last. Some say yes, some say no and some may even say it depends. Now you’re probably wondering if it’s such a simple question, then why think twice about it?

As each day goes by, we are able to choose and experience different paths. As we follow our so called “destiny”, we tend to build up certain feelings or emotions. These feelings act as water in a cup. Little by little, we begin fill these cups with drops of our thoughts, our feelings, our emotions.

A drop of water is nothing compared to a cup. It seems as if the water will go on forever, never being able to reach the top. Now there are those who empty their cups and those who believe it really will go on forever. After a while, they begin to form a habit, pouring everything into their cup; never emptying, never sharing. But what does it matter? It goes on forever, right?

But what happens when it actually does reach the top?

Simple. It begins to overflow. The cup you felt so comfortable putting all of your bad days, nightmares, heartaches in begins to empty itself. But where does it all go?

This unwanted splash of water is finally revealed to the outer space. Will it be cleaned up or left there for others to slip on?

In the end, it’s your cup. You can choose to empty it or let it fill up.

Now, ‘is the cup half full or half empty?’

In Retrospect

As most people do when they’re bored, I googled myself. As I rummaged through the links, I stumbled upon my old blog on blogspot. With this being a blog and all, why not reblog some of my old posts?

“Retrospect is the meaning of time.
Past, present & future.
We live our lives in the present.
Knowing nothing of our future, but only our past.
We understand what’s going on now and what has already happened.

First question is “how do we understand what will happen?”

Simple.
By understanding our past.
From life to death, we exist in a cycle.
The past was the present.
The present was the future.
The future is the past.

Next question, “how is that possible?”

Simple.
From the moment of birth, we are cared for by our loved ones.
As we grow, we become independent, taking care of ourselves.
As we age, we become elders, under the care of our loved ones once again.
As we pass, the cycle starts over with the next leaf of our family tree.

In conclusion, our lives are a cycle. Everything is repeated, just in a different way.
We learn from our past to understand what will happen in the future, today.

Live in retrospect.
